Welcome to Depth of Field ! Depth of Field was established online in the mid-1990's and is run by photographer Phil Royal. At that time Phil was a keen amateur photographer and the website was established as a place to showcase his varied work, from landscapes and steam locomotives to abstract and manipulated images. The site was viewed by a couple of publishers who liked his work, and since then the business and scope of work undertaken has steadily expanded. Based in Ashford, Kent, Depth of Field now undertakes work all over the UK and beyond for magazine and book publishers and corporate users, both on a freelance and commissioned basis. We contribute to a range of online libraries -specialising primarily in transport subjects - but also supply landscapes and seascapes, flora and fauna and general travel images. We have also provided images commercially covering architecture and construction, where a more creative and abstract view can produce drama from some might consider more mundane subject matter. We are also regular photographers at re-enactment events -particularly covering the the World War II period -both for show organisers and the reenactors themselves. |
