Depth of Field's first foray into commerical photography was in 1995 when a number of images submitted to EMAP's Steam Railway magazine were published. Further images were submitted to Kelsey Publishing's Classic Military Vehicle magazine and the business has blossomed from there. The mainstay of our work has thus traditionally covered transport images, from both a stock and commissioned perspective. Many stock transport images are now placed with the Airteamimages.com, Seateamimages.com and Railteamimages.com stock libraries. However, our scope of work does not stop there. For local clients we have undertaken product photography, medical photography (injuries for court case presentations), and event photography for some of the largest shows in the UK. We also provide news images to local papers, particularly KOSmedia. Our style also lends itself particularly to more technical photography, such as architectural and construction imagery, and we are always keen to expand our portfolio into new areas and for new clients. Further to some successful in-the-field photography courses organised for friends and colleagues in 2008, we have been asked to run more courses in 2009. The scope and location for these is currently being planned and all enquiries are welcomed, but they will include the Lake District in February, and Grey Seals in Lincolnshire in November. Other potential locations include Ireland and the Western Isles of Scotland, with which we are familiar, as well as London-based events. Some images from the 2008 Lake District trip can be found on the courses page. The majority of our work is shot on Nikon high-end 35mm dgitial equipment, but we also have traditional film medium format cameras available where the client demands it - equipment which was the mainstay of our work before we went digital. |
